TKC invests further in own delivery fleet with new vehicles

TKC has added 4 brand-new vehicles to its 20-strong delivery fleet, as part of an ongoing investment and commitment to customer service and On Time in Full delivery. One 18-tonne and 3 13-tonne vehicles are the latest additions and as with all TKC vehicles they have dedicated racking to transport products that require delicate handling such as cornice, plinth and end panels, to ensure customer orders arrive in perfect condition.

TKC services retailers and manufacturers nationwide with its extensive component portfolio and Jigsaw complete kitchen offer. The company operates a mix of its’ own 20-strong fleet with varying size and capacity, alongside trusted third-party partners for both the South East and South West to run vehicles exclusively on TKC’s behalf.

Roy Saunders, CEO at TKC, said: “We know that our customers generally prefer deliveries to be via a TKC dedicated vehicle and we’re now delivering c 90% of our business on our own fleet. The investment in four new vehicles is the latest in a number of operational improvements which reinforce our commitment to service excellence and to making it as easy as possible for our customers to do business with us. In the last two years we have added 40% more fleet capacity. The extra capacity provides us with further room for growth, while also maintaining our on-time, in-full performance for customers at a time when supply chain reliability has never been more important.”

Alongside the investment, TKC has also implemented new planning software to improve its vehicle fill and route scheduling to ensure it maximises the number of orders which are delivered via its own transport.
