Dornbracht wins German Sustainability Award for Companies 2026
Dornbracht has been awarded the German Sustainability Award for Companies 2026 in the sanitary technology category. The jury recognised the consistent and future-oriented sustainability strategy of the fittings manufacturer from Iserlohn, Germany. The award honours the company's clear commitment to shaping the industry in a responsible manner.
Dornbracht impressed the jury as the world's first manufacturer to take back its own fittings, refurbish them by hand, and return them to the market. The focus is on preserving the value of the products and minimising the use of resources. Compared to a new product, Dornbracht ReCrafted fittings save around 40% in CO2 emissions.
Dornbracht ReCrafted is part of a holistic approach to sustainability. Most raw materials and preliminary products come from within a radius of 200km, 80% of materials come from Germany, and over 90% from Europe. Attention is also paid to clean production: 96% of surplus materials are recycled using the company's own waste management system. State-of-the-art extraction and filter systems are used to bind critical liquids and dusts to prevent them from entering the environment. The longevity of the products also plays a decisive role in terms of sustainability: the design classics last for generations.
“For us, sustainability means taking responsibility – for our products, our employees, and for future generations. With our holistic strategy, we have created a strong foundation that we can be proud of. This award is a recognition for the entire Dornbracht team, who works with passion, conviction, and perseverance to continuously increase our contribution to sustainability,” said Caroline Schmitt, general management Dornbracht.
