Faucets celebrates retirement of longest-serving employee Gill Rowlands
Pontypool-based bathroom distributor Faucets has announced the retirement of its longest-serving employee, Gill Rowlands. Rowlands joined the company as a typist 36 years ago, and then gradually worked her way up to the senior position of sales director.
The company celebrated her retirement at an evening event following its recent Charity Golf Day at the 5-star Celtic Manor Resort in Wales, which is home to 3 championship golf courses, last month. The day, which included a charity raffle, raised £10,410 which is being split between Macmillan Cancer Support and Make a Wish UK.
Darren Taylor, MD of Faucets, said: "What can I say about Gill? She is extremely popular throughout the industry. If you cut her in half it would read Faucets! I'm proud to call her and her husband friends. She will be sorely missed by everyone, but we wish her all the very best in her retirement!"
Patrick Gough, national sales director, added: “I’ve known Gill for almost 27 years – she’s been my boss, my mentor, and I’m proud to call her a friend. Wishing her all the best in whatever comes next.”
