Laminam UK reinforces commitment to sustainable innovation
Large-format porcelain surfaces specialist Laminam has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, which highlights significant achievements in environmental efficiency, social responsibility, and ethical governance. In a year marked by economic and geopolitical challenges, Laminam says it continued to demonstrate resilience, reporting €230 million in sales, bolstered by progressive strategies that put sustainability at the core of its operations.
At the heart of the report is twO by Laminam. A groundbreaking 2mm ultra-thin surface launched at Salone del Mobile 2024, this product represents a stride towards reducing material consumption without compromising quality or aesthetics. For UK architects, designers, and developers focused on minimising carbon footprints, this innovation presents a solution for more sustainable construction and interiors.
Further strengthening its green credentials, Laminam has significantly reduced its CO₂ emissions per square metre of product by 9%, achieved 100% raw material recovery during production, and recycled 52,000 cubic metres of wastewater. With its Italian facilities now powered entirely by renewable electricity, Laminam is actively transitioning to low-impact manufacturing.
Gavin Shaw, MD of Laminam UK, said: “Sustainability is not just a corporate goal – it’s a customer expectation and a design imperative in the UK. The advances highlighted in this year’s report are not only impressive but deeply aligned with the UK market’s priorities. From energy-efficient manufacturing to products like twO by Laminam that directly reduce material usage, we are perfectly positioned to support architects, specifiers, and fabricators in delivering truly sustainable solutions across the built environment.”
